Emergencies rarely happen during “normal business hours,” so 1st Pet Veterinary Centers updated their website to let Arizonans know they’re The One to Call 24/7.

Dr. Randy Spencer, 1st Pet Veterinary’s (1PV) owner and Hospital Director, set out to fulfill a valuable yet simple mission: to provide sophisticated and compassionate veterinary care to pets and their families in the Phoenix metro area. After acquiring his first location in 1989, then named American Pet Center, and eliminating the pet store that had once been a part of the original business, Dr. Spencer’s endeavor experienced significant growth that helped to further leverage this mission.

And They Grew One by One

Dr. Spencer then embarked on properly scaling his practice by delving into emergency and specialty practices, staffing the hospital, and increasing the leased space to better accommodate the growing business. At the turn of the millennium, the hospital grew to serve even more clients, leading Dr. Spencer and his practice to cultivate a more comprehensive staff and to move to a larger facility in Chandler, AZ. The hospital continued to grow, and Dr. Spencer began to develop his vision of a 24-hour facility offering emergency, specialty, and primary care veterinary services. Along with a few interested staff members, the hospital, then named 1st Emergency Pet Care, opened their doors to a second location in Mesa, AZ in 2003. Success soon followed, and the purchase of their third location in North Valley, AZ completed their family of locations. Overwhelmingly welcomed by their new neighborhood, the facility quickly became a busy general practice and 24-hour emergency care center. In 2013, Dr. Spencer combined all three hospitals into one brand, offering the same quality care and compassion in the emergency, specialty, and primary care veterinary services. Thus, the very 1st Pet Veterinary Centers that Arizonans have come to appreciate was born.

1PV’s dedication to providing exceptional veterinary care is rooted through all aspects of the hospital, and has been recognized by some of the leading organizations in the veterinary industry. 1PV was named DVM 360’s 2016 Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Competition Hospital of the Year, is an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association, recognized as a Cat Friendly Practice, and is a certified Fear Free care provider.

One Step Forward

After 28 years of operation, 1PV continues to be prosperous, and now has enlisted Dreamentia’s (DCL) help in updating their website to parallel their thriving business and enhance their main mission. Guided by 1PV’s tagline, “The One to Call, 24/7”, the website update’s main focus was to make calling one of its three locations more seamless and convenient. DCL has redesigned the website to make the phone numbers more prominent and easily accessible, and to develop it for mobile responsiveness to make one-touch calling a key feature. Visitors who want to connect with one of their friendly Customer Service Representatives, whether to schedule an appointment or to check on their pet after a procedure, can do so in just one step.

The updated website further represents why they should be top-of-mind for all pet owners, as it now hosts a variety of client-centric features, including online appointment requests for convenient scheduling; downloadable forms for swift registrations; and detailed, user-friendly descriptions of their comprehensive primary care, referral, and emergency services for visitors to access at any time, on any device. The website overhaul also carved a place for 1PV’s Blood Bank program, which includes vital information for interested pet parents, an easy-to-fill web form for program inquiries, and a separate page dedicated to recognizing the pet donors called Donor Heroes.

1PV’s ongoing collaboration with Dreamentia aims to further optimize www.1stpetvet.com and elevate user experience to keep clients abreast of company developments and to steadily provide valuable information for pet parents. Dr. Spencer states he is looking forward to “[working together] as we continue to update our great new website.”
